AXA-Minmetals Assurance Company Limited, a joint venture of AXA Group and Minmetals Group, is the first Sino-French insurance company in China and also the first life insurer to be approved by China Insurance Regulatory Commission after it was established. The company was established in Shanghai on June 1999.

“Commitments to development of China” is AXA-Minmetals' unchangeable philosophy. During the years of operation in China market, AXA-Minmetals has kept a substantial and constant growth and been proactive with its expansion strategy gradually. Since the business commencement of its first branch company operated in Guangzhou on September 18 2003, AXA-Minmetals started its second branch company-Beijing Branch on March 3 2005.

In May 2006, AXA-Minmetals got CIRC's approval to upgrade its Guangzhou branch to AXA-Minmetals Assurance Guangdong Branch, and expand its business geographically to the whole Guangdong Province.

In April, 2008, Jiangsu Branch was established to enforce AXA-Minmetals’ business in East China.
